...where you may find almost anything on the band that plays the
finest in contemporary punkrock.
For the ignorants: STEAKKNIFE is an American-Italian-French-German
punkrock band living in Saarbrücken / Germany. We've been here
way longer than you might think, doing our job much better than
you might imagine. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Oh yeah: Go sign our guestbook!
If anyone out there has really seen our Video
on MTV, where it's supposed to be shown on small rotation, please
leave us a message.

Selling the spirit of punkrock.
Lately, I replaced Peter and Frank
as salesman of our merchandise. What I believed to be an easy business
(eons ago I was merchandiser for the Spermbirds and it was almost
always fun) turned out to be a pain in the ass. For the plain and
simple reason that people don't seem to appreciate other people's
(in this case our) work anymore. I don't know how Peter and Frank
handle this, but I am definitely sick of explaining "real"
punkrockers why we ask for "so much money" for our records,
t-shirts and gigs. And I'm also sick of hearing the phrase "back
in the old days, punkrock meant still something, but now you are
selling it's spirit". RIGHT, and we started doing this at a
time where most of you didn't even bother about punkrock or it's
spirit and surely long before you ever started thinking about buying
it yourselves. And why? Because we are capitalist pigs who have
expensive hobbies, as you might recognize watching the pictures
on the bottom of this page...

As you might have seen on the site of our label,
we are about to publish a new record... well kinda! We will make
the days of all of those waiting for our regular new album (which
probably will be released in January 2005) with an album containing
a few live tracks, remixes, unreleased material, rare 7" tracks
and the best songs of our first 2 albums plus the "my dad's
a cop"-video and a few MP3 gimmicks. The album will be called
"Stuff" and hopefully be released within September.
