In 2002 the situation did not change really much. We continue doing
our booking by ourselves and try to get Rocket into the practice
room, which he often refuses. As a result, we dont' play as many
shows as we would like to, mainly because we don't want to end up
like our own cover band, playing the same old boring songs over
and over again. The situation has changed though, as Rocket has
left the band after the Czech Tour in March to concentrate on his
cycling career. With old pal Lucky Diamond back, we had a new wind
of inspiration and new songs are coming easily.
The shows:
Druckluft/Duisburg: A punkrock concert in a punkrock place.
Except from the weather that sucked bad, we enjoyed ourselves and
our support band Vageenas. Everything is in the same areal, so you
can get drunk peacefully without having to bother who's gonna drive
the van to the "sleeping place".
Schongau. great place: good food, nice stage, very nice promoter
and crowd and a lot of girls who want to sleep with real punkrockers.
Czech Republic: Bad vibrations! Rocked wants to cancel the
shows a week before they were scheduled for some very strange reasons
which are none of your business. The argument ends with his decision
to leave the band directly after this small tour. Well, nevertheless
we managed to have some fun in Czech including a 1.5 hour session
of "find your hotel" in the middle of the night on some
hill in Prague. We witnessed militia guys checking our audience,
met giggling little girls, drank and took drugs with the locals
and drove through bohemian villages. The Czech beer tastes good
everywhere you go and the local promoter is very concerned with
the bands as he keeps on calling them every half an hour or so (
RINNNG "Hi, where are you?" - "on the Motorway!"
- "fine"....RINNG RINNGG "Hi, how are you doing?"
"Fine, we're on the motorway" -"that's good, see
you later in the Club"......RIINNNG RIINGG RIINNNGGG ".."
"..YES WE ARE DOING FINE, WE'LL SEE YOU LATER!!!!)
The Open Airs:
Püttlingen/Rocko del Schlacko: a local open air in
our area with a relaxed athmosphere. A young local girl made a little
strip-show in front of our merchandise stand, but instead of buying
the shirt she has tried on, she's giving it back to us. Our evening
is saved, everyone is allowed to take a sniff or two...
Stemwede: the open air we've missed last year due to Marcs'
stomach-ache. HUUUGE! An incredible lot of people in front of the
stage and even more on the techno party ground a few yards away.
Lots of various catering, beer and drinks galore. We feel important!!!
Brühl/Krückstock Festival: We're brought back
to reality: Dogs, old and young punkers, a truck-trailer as stage.
We still have some fun, especially with our pals from Hammerhai
until a stagehand drops HellG's ampeg amp and cabinet on his bass.
HellG is not amused, and we neither, but what hte heck, there's
nothing you can do about it. We drive to the Villa where Marc lives
with some other people and have a nice party and great breakfast.
Primsrock. Another local festival. We're hungover and HellG
is in a great mood, because both his amp and his bass are broken.
We play the show, talk a bit with the locals and leave. But anyway,
HATECLUB were cool.....
Heidenheim/K2. A nice club, with a restaurant and a terrace
with heating funguses so you can sit outside even in the winter.
The only thing that sucked were the punkers trying to tell us that
we were selling out punkrock. But hey, think a bit about who's buying
it?!?
Frankfurt Exzess. Finally we get to meet some old friends
again. unfortunately, less people than expected showed up but that
didn't matter. The bands we played with - ENDMONSTER and especially
DÜSENJÄGER -were great: Lucky entertained the audience
with his comments about our lack of infallibility ....
